What inspires me?

Growing up in a multi-cultural city, I have learned to appreciate the contribution of different cultures to Architecture. From an early age, I have been intrigued by this as when volunteering at Sir John Soane's Museum, I explored remnants of the past that sparked my interest in Art. Architecture is an amalgamation of such Artefacts where historical examples could inform contemporary Architecture. When creating, I intend to consider how we experience buildings and how Vernacular styles can improve our collective quality of life. I have developed an interest in the natural connection between man and shelter; Sir David Adjaye quotes, “buildings are deeply emotive structures which form our psyche… the makeup of a person is influenced by the nature of spaces” (Sir David Adjaye, 2009). Art and architecture in conjunction with natural human experience birth tapestries of time.
